摘要 A process for manufacturing a charcoal ball for adsorbing phosphorus in water is provided to fabricate the charcoal ball for adsorbing and removing phosphorus moiety in water and to purify the water, thereby preventing generation of green algae in the water by adding ferrous sulfate to charcoal powder made of rice hull then heating the mixture. The process includes the steps of: preparing charcoal powder by heating rice hull; adding 20% by volume of ferrous sulfate to 80wt.% of the charcoal powder; and coagulating the mixture with fossil based coagulant and heating the coagulated mixture at 500deg.C for 20 minutes, so as to form a charcoal ball having pores of 10 micrometers and specific surface area ranging from 1,000 to 2,000m^2/g. The charcoal powder is obtained by burning and carbonizing rice hull at more than 1000deg.C and grinding the carbonized charcoal. As the fossil based coagulant, starch glue or soybean glue is used. The formed charcoal ball is used to physically remove sparingly soluble phosphorus, suspended solid and other fine materials and electrically capture water soluble phosphorus as well as the sparingly soluble phosphorus.
