<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out safe movement by carrying out speed change to a lower speed side when there is a shifting anomaly in automatic shift operation wherein shift operation is carried out by an accelerator pedal in addition to operation by a shift lever. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile vehicle is provided with main transmissions 10, 11 capable of carrying out multistage speed change, a sub transmission 12 with a reduction ratio larger than the main transmissions 10, 11, and a hydraulic forward/reverse change-over device 9. It is composed such that changing of the main transmissions 10, 11 is carried out by stepping operation of the accelerator pedal 58 in addition to operation by the shift lever 34. A control means 60 is provided wherein, if shifting action to a target shift position is not completed during the automatic shift operation using the accelerator pedal 58, the speed of the target shift position is reduced from the incomplete shift position to a predetermined low speed side shift position.
