<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon breakage detection system capable of quickly and accurately detecting balloon breakage such as a pinhole formed in a balloon, in a catheter with the balloon. <P>SOLUTION: This balloon breakage detection system is provided with electrodes inside the balloon and outside the balloon. Between the electrode inside the balloon and the electrode outside the balloon, probing current is energized through the balloon, while the volume of the current is measured.
