PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material capable of enhancing the protective properties of an object to be packed with less amount of the material to be used. SOLUTION: Right and left sides of rising parts of two ridges of one set facing each other of a bottom face part 1 are extended. Right and left extension parts 5 and 6 are further returned at folding lines 11 and 12 provided in the direction of ends of the right and left extension parts 5 and 6 from a rising part 3 side between the right and left extension parts so that a returned portion is longer than a remaining returned portion, and the returned portion is projected in the rising direction from a portion to be returned. The right and left extension parts 5 and 6 are held by returning rising parts 2 and 4 of two ridges of one remaining set toward the bottom face part 1, and tips 13 and 14 of returned portions of the right and left extension parts form a fixed part in a held condition thereof to ensure the connection of the connected rising parts.
