<p>A light emitting diode lamp comprising a pair of lead terminals (2, 3), a cup part (8) formed at the forward end of one lead terminal to have an inner circumferential surface serving as a conical light reflective surface (9), a light emitting diode chip (4), and a transparent synthetic resin body (6) packaging the forward end part of both lead terminals (2, 3). The light emitting diode chip (4) has an upper surface provided with an n electrode (4d) or a p electrode (4e) and a lower surface provided with the p electrode (4e) or the n electrode (4d). An n semiconductor layer (4a) and a p semiconductor layer (4b) are formed in layers between the n electrode (4d) and the p electrode (4e) while sandwiching a light emitting layer (4c). Side surface of the light emitting diode chip (4) is coated with light transmitting synthetic resin (10) containing powder of fluorescent substance, excepting the n electrode (4d) and the p electrode (4e). The light emitting diode chip (4) having such a structure is die bonded to the inner bottom face of the cup part (8) such that the n electrode (4d) or the p electrode (4e) is faced down and the p electrode (4e) or the n electrode (4d) is faced up. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007</p> |
