PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device capable of surely storing image information transmitted by facsimile communication or Internet facsimile communication. SOLUTION: Prior to transmission of a FAX image, a CPU 10 of an MFP 1 transmits the FAX image (ordinary image) before encoding to a file server 3 to store the image therein, acquires the ordinary image stored in the file server 3 after the end of the storage, encodes the acquired ordinary image to be the FAX image, and faxes the FAX image to an external facsimile machine via a telephone line P.
