<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to efficiently execute update work of shared data without having an unpleasant feeling or stress. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming system is composed by connecting host computers 20, 30, and 40 of a plurality of the users to an image forming device 10 possessing the shared data updatable by the users. Queues are respectively assigned to the users on the basis of user information transmitted from the users. A chance to occupy the image forming device 10 for updating the shared data is respectively imparted to the users in the order of queue assignment.
