The device (1) has a stand with a collecting device (9) for receiving fiber goods, batchwise. A pre-press device (15) includes a pre-press chamber with partially moving walls. A conveying device is provided for transporting of the pre-pressed fiber goods from the pre-press device to a main press device (26). The main press device has two aligned, movable, independently driven press dies (27,30). An independent claim is also included for a method for production of press bale.
