PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact camera whose front area is made smaller and which is made thinner. SOLUTION: The camera includes: an imaging optical system unit constituted of a bending optical system; a barrier member opened/closed on the front of the subject light incident aperture part of the imaging optical system unit; an actuator for driving to open/close the barrier member; and a flash unit equipped with a flash light emitting part radiating flash light. In the camera, the actuator and a main capacitor for flash light emission are arranged at the right side end, the subject light incident aperture part is arranged on the left side of the actuator, and the flash light emitting part is arranged on the left side of the subject light incident aperture part when viewing the camera from a subject side.
