<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a preventive or a therapeutic agent for osteoporosis more excellent in effects than those of preventive or therapeutic agents for osteoporosis containing conventionally well known soy bean protein and isoflavone as effective components. <P>SOLUTION: New effective components in soybeans expressing preventive or therapeutic effects for osteoporosis are specified by full use of primate models, as the preventive or therapeutic effects for osteoporosis with soybean isoflavone assumed from conventional experimental results using small animal models have been questionable. The preventive or therapeutic agent for osteoporosis contains β-conglycinin and/or a hydrolysate of the same with a protease as an effective ingredient.
