<p>A medium carrying mechanism (3), comprising a rotatable carrying roller, a roughly cylindrical carrying roller carrying a recording medium by rotating together with the carrying roller while holding the recording medium therebetween, a support unit supporting the carrying roller on the peripheral surface of the carrying roller so as to be brought into contact with and separated from each other, and an operation unit moving the carrying rollers according to the movement of an operation part. The carrying roller is disposed at a position apart from the carrying roller in such a state that the operation part is disposed at a first position, the carrying roller is pressed against the peripheral surface of the carrying roller in such a state that the operation part is moved from the first position in one direction to dispose it at a second position, and the pressing force of the carrying roller at the second position is changed in such a state that the operation part is moved from the second position further in one direction to dispose it at a third position. As a result, the operability of the medium carrying mechanism carrying the sheet-like recording medium can be improved.</p> |
