A packet charging method by service type is provided to be capable of managing a sequence by receiving a reception format of charging data in separation type from a fixed type, and of calculating the amount of used money, the amount of deducted/discounted money, and the amount of charged money according to each service type, thus system use efficiency is improved. If charging data for one packet data call is received(S201), a charging data processor classifies each CDR(Call Detail Record) according to each service type(S203), and regenerates more than one CDR classified by the service types as one CDR(S205). The charging data processor binds the regenerated CDR with UDRs(Usage Detail Records) of the received charging data to generate charging data corresponding to each type, which includes one CDR and one UDR, then delivers the generated charging data of a separation-type format to a charging processor(S207). The charging processor calculates the amount of used money, the amount of deducted/discounted money, and the amount of charged money correspondingly to each service type(S209). A charging information output unit outputs information on the amount of the used money, the amount of the deducted/discounted money, and the amount of the charged money according to each service type(S211).
