PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device that causes less particle contamination, moreover, allowing an organic EL layer to be easily formed and is suitable for use as a large panel or the like. SOLUTION: This light-emitting device includes a vessel for blocking the outside air and an organic EL element arranged in the vessel. The light-emitting device is characterized, in that the organic EL element contains a light-emitting polymer compound in its organic EL compound layer; a desiccant agent, formed of a compound chemically adsorbing moisture and capable of maintaining solid phase even after adsorbing moisture is further arranged in the vessel.
