The SEPIC converter circuit differs from prior art devices in two ways. Firstly, an isolating capacitor [C2] is located between the switching element [S1] and the SEPIC capacitor [C1]. Secondly, a coupling capacitor [C4] is positioned between the AC voltage output side [KL1] of the lamp [LA] and the lamp inductance coil [L3].
