Data ROM is recorded with area data of countries, cities or the like an d information data in respect of the area data. A user selects area data havin g high frequencies of use from the area data and records them. The area data is successively displayed. The invention relates to an electronic timepiece and a display method. The timepiece comprises area information storing means for storing area data comprising geographic locations and information data; area selecting means for selecting data for a location; selected area information storing means, allowing a user to select geographic locations of primary interest by operating an input switch, and storing area data and information data for these locations; and selected area information displaying means for displaying are a data and information data for a selected location, data for locations of primary interest being displayed before data for other locations.
