A composition for treating and preventing bovine mastitis comprising an extract of Scutellaria Radix is provided to show excellent proliferation inhibition and extinction effect against pathogenic bacteria and be safe to human and animals without requiring withdrawal period. The composition for preventing and treating bovine mastitis comprises 1-5 wt.% of an extract of Scutellaria Radix, 0.1-0.3 wt.% of potassium sorbate, 0.1-0.3 wt.% of butyl para-hydroxy benzoate, 0.01-0.05 wt.% of Centella asiatica and the remaining amount of distilled water.
