The device has a transmitted pulse detector (4) detecting a transmitted pulse, and a video amplifier (5) receiving the pulse. An analog processing device (6) supplies data related to parameters of width and power of the pulse. The device (6) generates control signals to a digital potentiometer (8) that generates a variable amplitude Gaussian signal synchronized with a synchro transmission and signals controlling a digital potentiometer (9). The potentiometer (9) generates a variable amplitude square signal synchronized with synchro transmission. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling parameters of a pulse transmitted by a high power RF pulse transmitter.
