An Internet-based emergency reception terminal and an emergency reception service method therein are provided to turn up the volume of broadcasting audio signals, outputted through the speaker of an IPTV, to a preset volume level so that the user can immediately recognize an emergency situation. A VoIP phone(300) for providing an emergency reception service consists of a storage part(301), a key input part(303), a control part(305), and a driving part(307). The storage part(301) stores firmware for driving the VoIP phone(300) and the emergency termination data corresponding to an emergency reception signal. The key input part(303) is provided to input a user's key signal. The control part(305) makes the whole system operated in a VoIP phone mode according to the user's intention. Also the control part(305), in response to an emergency reception signal inputted from a computer system(500), transfers the VoIP phone mode to an emergency phone mode so that the VoIP phone(300) can be operated in the emergency phone mode. The driving part(307) switches on or off a light-emitting part(309) according to control of the control part(305). Also the driving part(307) activates a buzzer(311) according to control of the control part(305) so that a buzz sound can be outputted.
