<p>The method involves determining a direction to be coordinated for a junction, and detecting a temporal distribution of vehicles, which passes the junction in the direction. Cyclic recurring group of vehicles are identified in the distribution. The cycle and arrival time of the group of vehicle are detected at the junction. A signaling program of a traffic light system is selected based on the cycle and arrival time and is temporally switched for controlling the system, such that traffic light transmitters for the direction to be coordinated are in green phase at the arrival time of the group. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a traffic light system.</p> |
