An electrodeless discharge lamp enabling the secure fitting of a lamp part and a coupler part to a base even if it is used over a long period by preventing its strength resulting from the deterioration of a resin material from being lowered. A bulb (2) filled with a discharge gas and the coupler part (4) generating a high-frequency electromagnetic field for exciting the bulb (2) are detachably fitted to each other through the base (3) fixedly supporting the bulb (2), and the bulb (2) and the base (3) form the lamp part. The base (3) comprises a base frame (32) formed of a metal such as aluminum and a base cover (31) formed of a synthetic resin. The base frame (32) is so formed that a coupler part fitting portion (320) formed on the lower part thereof is fitted to the coupler part (4) and a bulb fixing strut (325) vertically installed on the coupler part fitting portion (320) fixes a bulb outer tube (21). As a result, the fitting parts of the lamp part and the coupler part (4) to the base (3) are less deteriorated in material than conventional ones thereof fitted to a resin base.
