The headlight has a screening device (5) screening a part of light that is reflected from a reflector and arranged between a light source and a lens. The device has a screening edge surface (9) that is provided with a contour at an upper edge and for forming light/dark limit of light dispersion. The surface has a shading projection (16) at a longitudinal side that is arranged in front in a light radiating direction. The screening edge surface has an absorption section in such a manner that a part of the light that is reflected from the surface in the direction of lens is reduced.
