PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a terminal, and a program capable of continuing group communication, even if there is a terminal where a utilization communication bandwidth is narrow substantially, or the throughput is low as compared with other members, in a group communication system. SOLUTION: The group communication system comprises a plurality of independent terminals for mutually communicating data in a first media format. In this case, there are provided a first step for selecting one of the independent terminals as a representative terminal according to the loaded state of the independent terminal; a second step for connecting a terminal, belonging to a group to the representative one dependent, set as a dependent terminal; and a third step for adjusting the media format between the data in the first media format transmitted and received to and from the independent terminal, and those in a second media format transmitted and received to and from the dependent terminal by the representative terminal.
