PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the downsizing and the cost reduction of a device by sharing the ripple current flowing to an output capacitor, between two pieces of capacitors. SOLUTION: This unit is equipped with a high power factor converter which is connected to an AC power source and converts an input current into DC power while making it a sine wave and supplies it to a load, a capacitor series circuit which is connected in parallel to the DC output side of the above converter, a discharge means which is provided in at least one of the above capacitors, and a switch means which supplies DC power from the series junction of the above capacitor series circuit to the above power factor capacitor in case that the AC power is cut off or drops, and in case that the AC power is cut off or drops, it operates the high power factor converter as a step-up chopper.
