The system has several smoke detectors (10) each containing an alarm device (13). The smoke detectors are mounted at locally distributed, exposed places of a room. Additional detectors (16-1, 16-2, 16-3) are connected with the smoke detectors via radio communication, where an activation of the additional detectors activates the alarm device of the smoke detectors. The alarm device produces several different alarm signals, where the smoke detectors communicate with an emergency call control center (23).
