PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of jointing steel pipe sheet piles by which a gap formed at a fitting portion between a pair of joint members is easily blocked without the execution of underwater work to thereby contribute to the alleviation of a workload, the shortening of a construction period, and the reduction of costs, and achieve the double corrosion protection of the entire joint members, and to provide a joint structure. SOLUTION: The method of jointing the steel pipe sheet piles 2, 2' is carried out by forming a slit 3a at one joint member 3 out of the paired joint members 3, 3' connecting the steel pipe sheet piles 2, 2' which are erected in water adjacently to each other, fitting the other joint member 3' into the slit 3a, and filling a filler 5 in the cylindrical joint member 3. By the method, bag bodies 8 are arranged in gaps X defined by the paired cylindrical joint members 3, 3', and before filling the filler 5 into the cylindrical joint member 3, an infilling 9 is charged in the bag bodies 8, the bag bodies 8 are inflated and pressed against the gaps X, to thereby block the gaps X.
