PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out layout by decreasing the duty cycle of logics for a multiplexer section for multiplexing metadata or the like.

SOLUTION: Memories 61, 62 stores each of multiplexing conditions corresponding to each of the metadata (M1 to M4). A comparison section 71 sequentially reads a set (a set of H1 and L1 or the like) comprising the multiplexing conditions from the memories 61, 62 and informs a metadata selection read section 74 about a set coincident with a set of input H/V information and an input Line No. among sets of the multiplexing conditions via a multiplexing Timing control section 72. The metadata selection read section 74 reads metadata or the like corresponding to the set of the multiplexing conditions discriminated coincident from a metadata memory 65 or the like and provides the metadata or the like to a multiplexer section 75. The multiplexer section 75 multiplexes the metadata or the like onto a part of an input signal particularized by the set comprising the input H/V information and the input Line No. The technology above can be applied to transmission reception systems for transmitting data multiplexed with metadata.
