PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dial for a timepiece having excellent transparency of an electromagnetic wave (a radio wave or light) and excellent esthetic appearance and durability, and a timepiece equipped with the dial for the timepiece. SOLUTION: This dial 1' for the timepiece has a base material 2, a multilayer film 3 equipped with a plurality of layers (metal oxide layers) constituted mainly of a metal oxide, a polarizer 4 having a function for polarizing entering light, and a diffusion layer 5 constituted of a material including a diffusion agent. The base material is constituted mainly of a plastic material. The multilayer film 3 has a molybdenum oxide layer constituted of the molybdenum oxide and a silicon oxide layer constituted of the silicon oxide as the metal oxide layers, and the molybdenum oxide layer is arranged in contact with both surfaces of the silicon oxide layer.
