An aqueous dispersion of polymeric particles is provided to impart good opacity such as improved and sustained hiding properties to film and to improve film integration, for example scrub resistance. The aqueous dispersion of polymeric particles comprises: 10-80wt%, based on the weight of polymeric particles, of a first polymer including, as polymerization units, at least one single ethylenically unsaturated monomer, 0.05-90wt%, based on the total weight of the first polymer, of multiple-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and at least one void having a diameter of 100-1200nm upon drying; and at least one second polymer that comprises at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer as a polymerization unit, forms film on the first polymer, has a Tg of -60 to 50‹C, and is formed in the presence of the first polymer.
