The collimator system includes a primary collimator (1) and a secondary collimator (2). The primary collimator has a central aperture (3) through which the z-axis passes, and a concentrically arranged ring-shaped opening. The secondary collimator has a cylindrical-surface-shaped aperture (5) which extends concentrically to the z-axis, and a conical-surface-shaped aperture (6) which extends to a point on the z-axis between the primary collimator and the secondary collimator. Independent claims are included for an x-ray diffraction scanner, and f a method of carrying out x-ray diffraction analysis.
