<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float for treating waste water and a method therefor for purifying and deodorizing the oily waste water without using an aeration unit. <P>SOLUTION: The float 1 for treating the oily waste water stagnating in a grease trap 2 comprises a package 15 made of a natural gas-permeable material and a microorganism carrier 12 made of a porous material, filling up the package, and carrying aerobic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria as well. The float 1 is floated on the surface of the oily waste water so as to have a contact surface with air to create an aerobic environment in the package by the microorganism carrier in conjunction with the air taken in at least through the contact surface with air. The created aerobic environment promotes the decomposition of the oily waste water by the aerobic bacteria. The decomposition by the aerobic bacteria creates in the package an anaerobic environment in turn which promotes the decomposition of the oily waste water by the anaerobic bacteria. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
