Disclosed is an optical transmission element comprising optical fibers (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) that are embedded in a UV-curing protective layer (2). The optic al fibers and the UV-curing protective layer are surrounded by a jacket (3) on which spherical elements (5) are disposed. A conductive layer (4) that is provided with a specific resistance in the range of 5 1010 Ohm per meter at a temperature between 18 ~C and 24 ~C and a relative humidity of 45 percent is applied to the jacket (3) and the spherical elements (5) located thereupon. Electrostatic charging in such an optical transmission element is largely prevented when the optical transmission element (10) is blown into an empty tube such that blowing lengths ranging between 500 meters and 1000 meters ar e obtained.
