<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent film extremely near to zero or negative in retardation in its in-plane and thickness directions and excellent in durability under an environmental condition of high temperature and high humidity, etc., a polarizing plate using the transparent film having those capacities and a liquid crystal display device enhanced in contrast, free from irregularity or light leak and causing no curve in its liquid crystal screen. <P>SOLUTION: The transparent film has at least one metal compound layer at least on one side of its base material film directly or through another layer and its retardation value Rth in its thickness direction at a wavelength of 590 nm is -400 to 15 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
