<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor for detecting a rotation rectangle with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: First, work parts which are predetermined pixel groups included in image data are extracted and separated by steps S1-S4. In a step S5, contours of the respective separated works are searched and coordinates of all the pixels belonging to the outer periphery is detected. In a step S6, envelope points are detected from peripheral pixels of the works. A rotational angle and rotational Feret's diameter are measured.
