PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dentifrice composition having promoted trans-mucous membrane absorptivity of acetyleugenol having excellent effects for blocking alveolar bone absorption, providing no irritation to the mucous membrane, hardly causing liquid separation of the dentifrice, having good foamability and effective for prevention and treatment of periodontal disease. SOLUTION: The dentifrice composition comprises (A) 0.1-3.0 mass% acetyleugenol, (B) 0.5-3.0 mass% linear water-soluble polyphosphoric acid salt represented by general formula M<SB>n+2</SB>P<SB>n</SB>O<SB>3n+1</SB>(wherein, M is Na or K; and n is 2 or 3), (C) 0.5-10 mass% nonionic surfactant, regulated so that the mass ratio (B)/(A) of the components (B) to (A) may be 0.2-5.0.
