PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transfer device and a recording device which can be put into a low-noise and stable suction condition by optimizing sheet suction conditions. SOLUTION: The transfer device, transferring recording mediums while sucking onto a platen, comprises a pressure detection means to detect pressure to suck a recording medium 43 transferred to the platen 45 and a platen suction means capable of lowering the pressure to suck the recording medium 43 to the platen 45 by information from the pressure detection means.
