PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF HYBRID POLYMERIC MATERIAL

A process by which an organic/inorganic hybrid polymeric material comprising a resin and an inorganic substance finely dispersed in the resin in the nanometer order can be continuously produced by use of a simple apparatus without organic solvents on an industrial scale. A process of incorporating a thermoplastic resin having an acid value of 1 to 200mgKOH/g with an inorganic component formed from a metal alkoxide and/or a partial condensate thereof through the melting of the resin in the absence of an organic solvent capable of dissolving the resin to form a resin/inorganic hybrid material. It is preferable that the material be produced by melt kneading with a continuous kneading machine such as a twin-screw extruder.
