PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of leaving a leaving part by stable leaving load even if the leaving load in an opposite direction to a leaving direction is applied to the leaving part by bending moment applied to a steering wheel at an initial stage of secondary collision. SOLUTION: Bending moment M to an upper side of a vehicle body is applied to the steering wheel 8 at an initial stage of secondary collision accompanying with a collision accident and pulling force F to a rear side of the vehicle body is applied to a screw rod 18 by the bending moment M. Although force to a rear side of the vehicle body is applied to a housing part 30, since an abutment surface 21 at a rear side of the vehicle body of an abutment part 42 of the housing part 30 is closely adhered to an abutment surface 431 at a front side of the vehicle body of an abutment part 43 of an outer column 2a with no clearance, the housing part 30 is not moved to the rear side of the vehicle body.
