PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify editing processing remarkably. SOLUTION: The first allocation extent record of an allocation extent signal recorded at the last in a file that becomes a first-half part after combination, and the second allocation extent record of the allocation extent signal recorded at first in a file that becomes a latter-half section are detected. A pointer stored at the first allocation extent record is changed to a pointer for indicating the position of the second allocation extent record. Attribute information in the file record of a file that becomes a first-half section after combination is rewritten with that of a new file after combination, and the file record of a file that becomes the latter-half section after combination is deleted. Therefore, when combining recorded signals in a file at an arbitrary position, they are combined only on file management information, thus simplifying editing processing remarkably.
