<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve conversion efficiency of a light source that uses quantum dot phosphor. <P>SOLUTION: In a phosphor composition (10) and a light source (100) constructed by using the same, the phosphor composition contains first and second phosphors. The first phosphor (11) contains first phosphor particles which convert the light of excitation wavelength into the light of first spectrum that features light intensity changing as a function of wavelength. Here, the first phosphor particles are selected so that the first spectrum has no relation with the size of particles. The second phosphor (12) contains particles of QD phosphor that converts the excitation light into the light of QD phosphor spectrum. The particles of first phosphor and those of QD phosphor are present at a specified concentration ratio. The ratio, first phosphor particles, and QD phosphor particles are so selected that the synthesized spectrum has more uniform intensity, as a function of wavelength, than that represented either the spectrum of QD phosphor or the first spectrum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
