PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a front diaphragm compatible with a telecentric lens system on the reducing conjugation side. SOLUTION: The imaging lens system composed of: (1) a diaphragm r1; (2) a first group having a negative lens L1 whose curvature on the diaphragm r1 side face is great and a positive lens L2 whose curvature on the diaphragm r1 side face is less than that of the negative lens L1; (3) a second group having a positive lens L3; and (4) a third group having a positive lens L4 and a negative lens L5 in that order such that the face on the most reducing conjugation side face is convex with respect to the diaphragm r1, in this order from the magnifying conjugation side.
