An electronic ballast having high efficiency and an improved output characteristic is provided to have enhanced output in an abnormal status such as initial lighting of a lamp without increasing additional cost. In an electronic ballast having high efficiency and an improved output characteristic, a rectifying unit(200) supplies a DC voltage by rectifying an input AC signal. A lamp driving unit(300) turns on a lamp by receiving the voltage applied by the rectifying unit(200) and oscillating in a predetermined resonance frequency. A lamp unit(400") turns on the lamp by being applied by the rectified voltage from the rectifying unit(200) and oscillating the lamp driving unit(300). A first LC circuit(L4,C17) is connected to both ends of first and second electrodes of a first filament to preheat each electrode of the lamp of the lamp unit(400"). A second LC circuit(L5,C18) is connected to both ends of first and second electrodes of a second filament. |
