Tubular conduits are operated sequentially relative to a body of water in a water channel. The conduits draw or pick-up water from the channel and deliver water into turbines at speeds in which the kinetic energy of such water flow drives the turbines and associated alternators. Control elements are also provided at water pick-up points.
