An apparatus for controlling optical power is provided to prevent the retina of eyes of a user from being damaged by an optical signal. When an optical connector is inserted through an entrance of a shutter, a sensor unit(321) senses the input of an optical signal as the optical signal is received or the shutter is opened. When an optical fiber of the optical connector is connected with an optical fiber of an optical device, an optical varying unit(322) controls power of the optical signal by controlling offset of the contact surface between the connected optical fibers. When the shutter is opened, a control switch unit(311) is turned on or off according to a signal of the sensor unit(321). A transmission unit(312) transmits an optical signal desired to be transmitted by a terminal to a multiplexer(313). The multiplexer(313) controls a transmitted or received optical signal and controls power of the optical signal transmitted or received through the optical varying unit(322). A reception unit(314) transmits an optical signal received from the multiplexer(313) to the terminal. |
