PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator, the output waveform of which can be changed in response to applications. SOLUTION: The crystal oscillator 8 provided with a crystal resonator 2 and an oscillation circuit includes: a plurality of waveform output circuits 10 to 12 for outputting a plurality of different waveforms; a switch 1a, switches 1a to 3a, and a switch 3b, which select any of the waveform output circuits 10 to 12; and an internal memory circuit 6 for storing data for selecting the switch 1a, the switches 1a to 3a, and the switch 3b.
