PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent composition that rapidly disperses/dissolves when diluted, does not damage matter to be deterged and increases its pH when diluted to exhibit enhanced deterging power though it has a high viscosity suitable for use by applying, and a deterging method. SOLUTION: The liquid detergent composition comprises (a) hydrogen peroxide, (b) a nonionic surfactant having an oxyalkylene group, (c) a boron compound, (d) a polyol compound other than the component (e), (e) an alkyl glycoside, and (f) water, wherein the contents of the components (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) in the composition are 0.1-10 mass%, 3-40 mass%, 0.01-20 mass%, 0.1-30 mass%, 0.1-10 mass% and 30-95 mass%, respectively. The deterging method comprises applying the liquid detergent composition on the matter to be deterged and subsequently diluting the liquid detergent composition with water.
