PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoothly operating device by reducing the number of part items with a simple constitution in a fluid frictional resistance type braking device used for a sliding door and a folding door having an automatic closing device. SOLUTION: Fluid is sealed in a body 9, and the body 9 can be rotated when a pinion gear 8 arranged on an outside surface meshes with a rack 10. This body 9 is rotatably held by a support shaft 12, and this support shaft 12 is supported by a support base 7 via a one-way clutch 11. Arms 17 and 17 are formed in an inside shaft part of the support shaft, and a resistance 20 is slidably fitted to these arms 17 and 17. This resistance 20 is moved by an adjusting screw 28, and a fitting quantity of an annular groove 25 arranged in the resistance 20 and an action piece 26 arranged in the body 9 is adjusted.
