PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron tip having durability to lead-free solder, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The iron tip 10 for a soldering iron having a deep groove 10A in contact with solder is provided with: an iron tip body 11 having an extended groove 11D with a size obtained by extending the deep groove 10A; and a member 12 for a groove joined to the extended groove 11D of the iron tip body 11 so as to be integrated with the iron tip body 11, and in which the deep groove 10A is formed.
