METHOD FOR ASSESSING AIR-FILLING OF LUNGS

The method for assessing the air-filling of the lungs consists in measuring the diaphragm length and the distance between the points of its attachment to the thoracic wall in X-ray film obtained at the specified phase of the respiratory cycle. Then the ratio of these two distances is calculated. The air-filling of the lungs is estimated by the specially designed nomogram.
