摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective optical switch coated with a protective film in a photochromic mirror capable of switching between a transparent state and a mirror state. SOLUTION: The reflective optical switch becomes transparent when exposed to an atmosphere containing hydrogen and metallic state when exposed to an atmosphere containing oxygen. A thin film material for the reflective optical switch comprises a transparent substrate, a reflective photochromic layer formed on the substrate, a catalyst layer formed on the light control layer, and a protective film formed on the catalyst layer. The reflective photochromic layer is a thin film of a rare earth metal, an alloy of a rare earth metal and magnesium, an alloy of magnesium and a transition metal, or magnesium.
