The known terrace heaters (2) typically spread hot air in a radial manner out along the edge (18) of a circular, downwardly-inclining reflector unit (16), with the result that approx. 50% of the heat thus emitted flows to localities where there is no need for it, and therefore this flow of hot air must be said to wasted- There is disclosed a terrace heater (2) which comprises a second screen part (20) which extends outwards and downwards in a substantially vertically-oriented direction from along a part section of the circumference of the edge (18) of the first screen (16), preferably to a level corresponding to the transition (22) between the ignition and regulator unit (10) and the lower end (23) of the burner (12). The flow of heat which would otherwise be lost is hereby deflected towards the under-layer on which the terrace heater is set up, which results in an increase in comfort as a consequence of the heating of the area around the legs/feet of the persons who are in the terrace heater's heating area. |
